We, the members of the Newport Police Department, will vigorously and continually seek methods to reduce the opportunity for crime, accidents, and loss of individual property. We will improve the frequency of apprehension of those responsible for crime in our community through both the investigative process as well as the positive interaction with our neighbors. We will strive to ensure that Newport is a place where people can live, work, and raise a family within a safe and caring community, where law enforcement is seen as professional, courteous, and progressive.
